It’s nearing the end of January, which means we really should talk… about Valentine’s Day. 

First, let me just say: I’m not a fan. Sure, the idea can be kinda cute but… meh. Just… meh. (No offence to anyone for whom February the 14th is the highlight of their year. You do you, 100%.)

I get it, I do. It’s supposed to be all romantic and adorable, with metaphorical rose petals falling from the sky and chubby Cherubs flittering around. But, honestly, I don’t see the appeal – mostly because it lacks the spontaneity of a bunch of flowers on a random Wednesday, the thrill of a surprise picnic in the park, the warmth of an everyday cuddle… just because.

CARAMEL STUFFED WHITE CHOCOLATE CAKE TRUFFLES {gluten, nut & soy free}

These caramel stuffed white chocolate cake truffles are the perfect gluten free party dessert (even if it’s a party of one). Ridiculously pretty, dangerously delicious and super easy to make, there’s nothing not to love about these cake truffles!

Why do we pin so much importance onto a completely arbitrary day in the year? I mean, it’s just a calendar, folks! Do we really need a piece of paper to tell us how to live? Sure, if you’re under about 15 years old, New Year’s Eve is so totally cool because you’re allowed to stay up ’til midnight… or maybe I’m just too old and it’s actually only cool if you’re under ten? I don’t know.
