These gluten free pie pops are the perfect back to school (or work) snack for kids – be they small ones or big ones. Perfectly flaky, buttery gluten free pie crust pastry meets simple, but yummy strawberry jam filling – in a dessert-snack that couldn’t be easier to make! (Psst, there’s a video with step-by-step instructions, as well!)
I always start brainstorming for a post by asking myself: “What do I want to talk about?” And I usually come up with pretty random things. But today… today, nothing strikes my fancy.
I could talk about the two fluffy squirrels I’ve seen today on my way from lunch (they were cute and fluffy and they made me laugh because they were just so darn clumsy), I could moan about it being August and so bloody cold, I could talk about that one recipe that really didn’t work (didn’t work so much it was hilarious… after the initial meltdown).
These matcha no bake energy bites pack both a wake-up and a nutritional punch. The matcha powder provides a gentle dose of caffeine, while the rest of the ingredients ensure that you get a nice balance of carbs, protein and healthy fats with this tasty snack, as well as plenty of vitamins and minerals. (Psst, there’s a video with step-by-step instructions, as well!)
Do you like Mondays? I know I don’t. When I think of Mondays, I think of a Disneyesque character (a villain, obviously) cackling evilly and shrilly screaming: “Monday mornings are eeeearly mornings! Monday mornings are eeeearly mornings!”
These pistachio raspberry homemade energy bars taste like dessert but are the perfect quick healthy snack. They are super easy and quick to prepare with only 6 ingredients and 20 minutes of active preparation time. (Psst, there’s a video with step-by-step instructions, as well!)
It’s been a crazy week round here. Actually, the last few
weeks months have been crazy. Whoever said that starting a blog in the first year of your PhD was a piece of cake was… actually, I doubt anyone has ever said that. Because, honestly, who could possibly be insane enough to do it?
Yep. That’s right. Me. *facepalm*
These savoury prosciutto puff pastry twists make the ideal last-minute party nibble or appetiser, or simply a delicious snack. Buttery, flaky puff pastry teams up with salty prosciutto deliciousness in what just might be the easiest and quickest recipe to date.
I don’t survive solely on sugar, you know? I do realise why my recipes up to now might (totally do) give you that idea. My day-to-day life is actually full of savoury stuff – salads are my go-to lunch (more on that in a later post, suffice it to say I make this 3-ingredient dressing you most definitely want to get your hands on), carrots and hummus are definitely up there on the favourite snacks list, and I make a mean spinach omelette.
