A collection of my all-time favourite healthy desserts recipes – so that when the sugar craving strikes, but you still want to stay on the healthy eating side, you know exactly where to look. From raw vegan desserts to a paleo chocolate cake – there’s something for every taste and every dietary requirement!
It’s no secret that I have something of a sweet tooth. In fact, “something of a sweet tooth” is a huge understatement – a quick browse through my recipes will reveal that my sweet tooth is well and alive… and thriving. But in order to gain balance and feel good, a fair number of the desserts I make (and love) are healthy.
This decadent gluten free chocolate tart just might be one of the best gluten free desserts you’ll ever try. With a sweet, buttery gluten free shortcrust pastry, and a rich dark chocolate ganache filling, this gluten free tart is what chocolate lovers’ dreams are made of.
Hi, friend. I have a confession: the initial form of this post was more of a slightly ticked-off long-winded rant than anything else. To make a long story short: I’m at a conference-workshop thingy, unable to prepare my own food and faced with rather… meagre pickings for my (gluten free) meals. Add to that a sad-looking salad bar and a meagre fruit selection, and you’ve got yourself an unhappy, whining Kat.
This gluten free pizza is 100% the real deal. It has the perfect gluten free pizza crust, which tastes and looks and feels like pizza. There’s no strange ingredients and no complicated procedure needed – but the result will simply blow you away. If you thought that you wouldn’t – couldn’t – enjoy real pizza ever again because of your gluten intolerance… think again. Because this gluten free pizza dough recipe is a game changer.
I have a bucket list of foods I want to make allergy friendly. Pizza has always been very high on that list. No explanation needed. It’s pizza and we need pizza, and no gluten intolerance will stand between us and our pizza. Mmkay?
And yes, there are gluten free pizza recipes out there. There are. But… hear me out. A pizza crust should not contain eggs. Or milk. Or, god forbid, cauliflower. (Because, friends, I love cauliflower and all, but keep it away from my pizza.)
Making these chocolate-covered raspberry hi-hat cupcakes is like creating art. A thin, gently crunchy dark chocolate shell covers a fluffy cloud that is the raspberry-flavoured marshmallow meringue, and moist gluten free chocolate cupcakes complete what is essentially a piece of cupcake heaven.
You know those days when everything that could go wrong does go wrong? When an important e-mail ends up in the junk folder, a request is denied and a friend is feeling poorly in a really scary way? Yeah, it’s been one of those days.
I don’t deal well with days like that. I don’t deal well with stress in general. I bet I’m not the only one – more like one among many. Writing helps. Putting thoughts to paper, just getting it all out of your system. Baking, too. Being productive in that most delicious of ways. And breathing. Important, that one. Breathe in. Breathe out. Listen to a song that reminds you that what’s happened… happened and it’s not the end of the world. Breathe.
And it’s really really not the end of the world. I know it may sometimes feel like that… but it really isn’t. Just breathe. We’re okay.
